No to Forced Academies – Haringey March

Campaigners in Haringey have called a march against Michael Gove’s attempt to force Primary Schools that he describes as ‘underperforming’ to become academies.

Parents, teachers and governors held a 600 strong public meeting in Downhills school last week to protest against the proposal to force their school to become an academy. David Lammy MP is backing the campaign.

How can a primary school underperform?Given the age that of the children attending primary schools perhaps the government would like those children to study the classics as well as all branches of mathamatics and throw in all ‘foreign languages Latin and Greek to be made
compulsery and of course philosophy as taught by Wittgenstein, Aristotle and
    spiinoza
go for it, having said that just how are the schools failing?
