Join Tomorrow’s Opening Ceremony of the Atos Games

If the Tories felt humiliated by Danny Boyle’s Olympic Opening Ceremony in East London earlier this month, they ain’t seen nothing yet!

The Atos Games Opening Ceremony launches a week of action organised by Disabled People Against Cuts that promises to pile the pressure on Cameron, Work and Pensions minister Iain Duncan Smith, his juniors Chris Grayling and Maria “Factory Killer” Miller and their pet rottweiler contractors Atos.

For carrying out the ConDem’s attacks on disabled people and their rights to benefits with their flawed and discredited Work Capability Assessments, Atos have been handsomely rewarded with more lucrative government contracts and, peversely with the sponsorship of the Paralympic Games.

PCS, the union that represents workers at Atos and in the Department of Work and Pensions say in their statement:

“PCS wholeheartedly supports the campaign’s aim, which is to fight back against the unfair workplace capability assessments. The ‘fit-for-work’ tests have led to severely ill and disabled people being forced off the benefits system…

Any PCS members wanting to support the week of action are encouraged to do so…

The members we represent in Atos offices are not responsible for the failings of the government’s unfair welfare policy which victimises people who are not able to work through no fault of their own. They deserve your support, consideration and respect during what is a difficult time for any worker trying to deliver public services.”
