    Right to Work is pleased that our campaign, alongside others, has forced Tesco to make a new offer over work placements. Congratulations to all those who joined the demonstrations, wrote to Tesco or took part in some way. This is your achievement – protest works. We have been told by a Tesco spokesperson that it will mean that thousands of young people who were previously unpaid will now receive the same wages as Tesco staff – that is apparently just over the minimum wage. We are calling on campaigners to keep up the pressure and meet up at McDonalds which uses workfare. Corner of Argyle St/Union St/ Jamacia St Join the protest - SMASH THE WELFARE BILL - END WORKFARE NOW!!

    NATIONAL DEMONSTRTION With the Scottish Government proposing cuts of over 20% to colleges across Scotland, with over 100,000 unemployed 16-24 year olds in Scotland, with Scottish Universities becoming the most expensive in Europe for RUK students - it is time to stand up as a generation and say enough! We cannot allow another generation to be lost as happened in the 1980s. We are demanding: *No Cuts, No Forced Mergers! *No Fees wherever you are from! *No Youth Unemployment! *A Living Income For All Youth!

    UNISON Scotland, the Social Work Action Network and Defend Glasgow Services Campaign are planning to run a day conference which will provide an opportunity for service users, workers, carers, families and those interested in the issues around personalisation to come together. The day will be made up of a variety or inputs and workshops covering the latest developments and providing an opportunity to discuss our aims for campaigning to make personalisation work in Glasgow and the whole of Scotland. The conference will be of interest to all involved in personalisation and self directed support issues in Scotland.
